Black Hat Email Address Harvester, Or OTO / Upsell Method?

On February 23, 2007, I joined Wealth Toolbox, because I was courious what this thingie was all about. Please be informed, that I don’t give you my referral link here, though that would make me $20 per your sign up for free on 5 Levels of Referrals …

I don’t give you my referral link, because they have the email address as ID in the URL, and it’s the same on the account information page, where you don’t have to log in to see the information:

This is extremely indiscreet at least and unprofessional as well.

Now I did not want refer one single person to this “opportunity”, but there are $377.97 on my account as of today for doing nothing. And my referrer Berry has $13,306.81, I have access to his Account Information, and I doubt, that he likes to see that here. Obviously he was busy with this, hmmm.

Anyway, actually the reason for this post is to show an interesting way of listbuilding or better email address harvesting, targeted for money for nothing opps seekers. And …
Giving away some stuff for free to get forename and email address in order to chase you with a salespage after signing up is not new and with all these giveaways recently became boring.

What a great idea to not give something away for free, but give you $100 just for signing up! And then try to sell you something …
Referral fees of course are not payed out, but added to your account, great, see you in two years. ;~))

Let me know in a comment what you think of this thingie, I just wanted to find out about it and don’t like it, expect it to vanish in February or so without any payouts. Illegal or not, this is not my way of doing business.
